RANKING NFL WIDE RECEIVER ROOMS GOING INTO THE 2024 SEASON

Wide Receivers are an easier position to fill. When we looked at the RBs, you find teams that do not have a number one back. Every team has at least one good to great receiver. This list will see teams with only one great receiver to teams with many solid receivers. Even the bottom of list has a reason to be excited about a WR or two. Even the worst is not really that bad. Let's check them out!

  1. New England Patriots (Notable WRs: Kendrick Bourne, Demario Douglas, KJ Osbourne, "Jalynn Polk," & "Javon Baker")

I listed a lot of WRs here. They are all solid, but none are a true WR1. Bourne has never started more than half of a season. Douglas has the potential for a big year. Osbourne has proven the most and may look like the number 1 within a few weeks. My favorite part of this corps is their draft. I live the pickups of both Polk and Baker. I believe both are true starters in this league. A lot to look forward to in the future, but with such a big change for what New England usually is, I need to see what the offense looks like before I can fairly judge.

  1. New York Giants (Notable WRs: Jalin Hyatt, Wan'Dale Robinson, & Darius Slayton)

The Giants deserve some credit. They have a good number of receivers that can produce. I'm not sure how much they do with the rest of their offense looking the way it does, but if Daniel Jones can play better, one or two of these guys should have the ability to step up and make a name for themselves.

  1. Carolina Panthers (Notable WRs: Diontae Johnson, Adam Thielen, & "Xavier Leggette")

The Panthers adding Dionte Johnson was a great move. Johnson brings experience and should have similar production to Thielen. Both men should be quite the duo to help 2nd year QB, Bryce Young. I will be the first to admit I did not love the Panthers spending a first-round pick for Xavier Leggette. He has a high ceiling, but a low floor. I understand the high risk, high reward factor. I also believe they could have sat where they were and still got him one pick later, saving money and draft capital.

  1. Los Angeles Chargers (Notable WRs: DJ Chark, Joshua Palmer, "Ladd McConkey," & "Brendan Rice")

The Chargers drafted a couple of guys I believe can have solid careers in McConkey and Rice. That being said, I do not believe they are a sure thing. Therefore, I have to look at the core as Chark and Palmer. Chark is a nice redzone threat and has put up good numbers. I believe he may have a career year. Palmer has not started a full season but has had games that make me think he may see a breakout year as well.

  1. Atlanta Falcons (Notable WRs: Drake London & Darnell Mooney)

I have to believe London and Mooney both will have career years with Cousins at QB. I slight them over the Carolina duo just based on their situation. There were flashes of greatness watching Drake London and Darnell Mooney the last couple of years. They should both thrive with not only competent QB play, but creative play calling.

  1. New Orleans Saints (Notable WRs: Chris Olave & Rashid Shaheed)

Olave has proved himself as a true number 1 after the injuries and drama surrounding Michael Thomas. He was a beacon of hope in a rather dreadful offense. Shaheed is Carr's favorite deep threat. He needs an offensive mind who can draw up plays to properly use him.

  1. Jacksonville Jaguars (Notable WRs: Gabriel Davis, Christian Kirk & "Brian Thomas Jr.")

Gabriel Davis made quite the impression in Buffalo. Most rightfully view him as a number 2 and no higher. I understand that notion based on stats and having Josh Allen as QB. That being said, I do not think it is way out there to think he could produce WR1 production. Kirk, currently listed as WR2 is perfect for his role. Finally, the Jags 1st round pick certainly be starting in hopes he can break out.

  1. Baltimore Ravens (Notable WRs: Zay Flowers, Nelson Agholor, & Rashod Bateman)

The Ravens core is fine. Flowers certainly is making a name for himself as WR1. Agholor has been hot and cold his whole career. The Ravens are certainly hoping to see him make plays with all of the focus on Flowers. Bateman has had a very disappointing career up to this point. The Ravens may want to look into free agency and add some depth.

  1. Arizona Cardinals (Notable WRs: Greg Dortch, Zach Pascal, Zay Jones, & "Marvin Harrsion Jr")

Marvin Harrison Jr. feels like a for sure superstar from the draft. Everyone believes it. Dortch is a solid deep threat. The Pascal and Jones' pickups feel like the Cardinals grabbing a couple of solid pass catchers that were not properly used on their previous teams that have high ceilings. Harrison should keep this group grounded and take enough attention away that the other WRs get a good number of throws.

  1. Denver Broncos (Notable WRs: Courtland Sutton, Josh Reynolds, Marvin Mims Jr., & "Troy Franklin")

Sutton has the ability to be a top receiver in the league. He has been plagued by poor QB play. He is far from perfect, but let's hope Payton unlocks his full potential. Reynolds was a nice cheap veteran option with some upside. He has never really had that huge year, but if there is a coach that can bring it out of him, it is Sean Payton. Mims felt like a disappointment last season. Hopefully he can put the pieces together to have a big year. Franklin will be a perfect addition from the draft. He will help keep rookie QB, Bo Nix calm under pressure and provide competent WR play.

  1. Green Bay Packers (Notable WRs: Jayden Reed, Christian Watson, & Romeo Doubs)

Many fans see this group as underrated. I could not disagree more. Reed is the most productive of the group and should be Love's number 1 target. Watson is the deep threat. He may turn out okay with another year to try and put the pieces in order. Doubs has had a disappointing career to this point. I would not be surprised to see him lose his starting role by the bye week. What is one thing all of them had in common? They saw the endzone a fair amount. Love is really good at reading the field when it comes to the redzone.

  1. Buffalo Bills (Notable WRs: Curtis Samuel, Khalil Shakir, Marquez Valdez-Scantling, Mack Hollins, Chase Claypool, & "Keon Coleman")

The Bills are taking a chance on players who have shown flashes of greatness but were not used properly. Samuel should have a career year. He was very underrated in Washington. Shakir should continue his development as the year goes on. He seems to be fitting into the offense great. MVS has had plenty of ups and downs. The Bills hope to bring the best out of him. Hollins was subject to poor coaching in Atlanta. He may very well work himself into the starting 3. Claypool the Bills are taking a chance on. He fit best in Pittsburgh, and I would be shocked to see him return to form. Coleman, the 1st pick in the 2nd round is believed to be WR1. We will have to wait and see how the Bills plan to use him.

  1. Indianapolis Colts (Notable WRs: Michael Pittman Jr., Alec Pierce, Josh Downs, & "Adonia Mitchell")

Indianapolis has their coach, and if he can stay healthy, their QB. Their WR corps will see a breakout season amid Richardson's health. Pittman has solidified himself as a true number 1. Downs started to show off some of his skills towards the end of last season. Pierce also had moments where he looked like a solid deep threat. They also drafted Adonai Mitchell from Texas with their 2nd round pick. He looks like a promising prospect.

  1. Pittsburgh Steelers (Notable WRs: George Pickens, Van Jefferson, Calvin Austin, & "Roman Wilson")

George Pickens transformed to the WR the Steelers were expecting when he was drafted in 2022. He is definitely the highlight of this core. Roman Wilson despite his size, has all the fundamentals of a successful WR. He should be worth the 3rd round pick. I expect he begins looking like a speedy threat, maybe even end up as the WR2. The rest of the receivers are former WR4s, the Steelers hope to develop into 2 or 3s. I am very interested to see how they look.

  1. Dallas Cowboys (Notable WRs: CeeDee Lamb & Brandin Cooks)

Unpopular, I know. If this was just ranking number 1s, The Cowboys are top 5 easily. For the whole group? They just lack depth. Cooks has been on the decline since his 2021 campaign. I do like him, just not as a 2. Jalen Tolbert has done nothing of note. Kavonte Turpin is a return specialist. CeeDee Lamb will have the task of carrying this team on his back while being double covered. The Cowboys would benefit greatly from a free agent pickup.

  1. Washington Commanders (Notable WRs: Terry McLaurin, Dyami Brown, Jamison Crowder, & "Luke McCaffrey")

McLaurin gets no love despite reaching over 1000 yards in each of his last 4 seasons. He is great against coverage. Dotson and Brown both have plays every couple of games that shout star receivers to me. They just need better stability from a coaching aspect. Crowder brings a veteran presence to help teach Luke McCaffrey. If Luke McCaffrey can just be half the player Christian is, the Commanders got an absolute steal.

  1. New York Jets (Notable WRs: Garrett Wilson, Mike Williams, & "Malachi Corley")

Similar to Dallas, the Jets have Wilson. He will flourish greatly with Rodgers at QB. Mike Williams is getting old, but worse than that he cannot stay on the field. Mike Williams has never started a full season in all of his 7 years. When he does play however, he can be a difference maker. His size helps him in the redzone making him a likely target for Rodgers. The only reason I slight the Jets over the Cowboys is New York's 3rd round pick, Malachi Corley. They spent a pick on a good prospect. The only question is if Rodgers will work with him.

  1. Cleveland Browns (Notable WRs: Amari Cooper, Jerry Jeudy, & Elijah Mitchell)

Cooper is the receiver you throw it up to under any circumstances and he will always have a 50/50 shot to come down with the ball. He is the definition of reliable. Jeudy has never quite broken through the glass ceiling that Denver had put up. He should see a career year with his fresh start. Moore has been rather disappointing since his rookie campaign. Cooper puts up WR1 stats, and I believe Jeudy can do the same. These two should be quite the pairing.

  1. Kansas City Chiefs (Notable WRs: Marquise Brown, Rashee Rice, Mecole Hardman, & "Xavier Worthy")

I believe Hollywood Brown will be a top 10 receiver statistically this year. He was a difference maker for Arizona the last two seasons. His yards after catch and vision make him a true threat. I do not believe Rice will miss any games this season. He is really close to taking the next steps toward becoming an elite WR. He has some areas he needs to work on, but I believe his year 2 can make all of the difference. Hardman, although never put-up incredible numbers, CATCHES THE BALL. That's why I believe the Chiefs brought him back. He is reliable where they need it. Worthy, I do not believe becomes a WR1. I see him as a solid 2. I am interested to see what way they use him. There are other notable receivers, but none I consider real difference makers.

  1. Las Vegas Raiders (Notable WRs: Davante Adams & Jakobi Meyers)

Adams is still one of the best receivers in the league. He is talked about far less being on a bad team. Meyers is very good at taking eyes off Adams. Every time Meyers gets the ball, it has a big play feel. The Raiders are severely lacking depth. These two are the only receivers worth bringing up. Though, they seemed to do just fine last year when it was basically the same scenario.

  1. Detroit Lions (Notable WRs: Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, Kalif Raymond, & Donovan Peoples-Jones)

This team revolves around Amon-Ra. He is a top 10 WR in the NFL with no signs of slowing down. Jameson missed his rookie year last year with injury, so the jury is still out, but he is believed to have the talent to pair perfectly with Brown. Raymond has a pretty low ceiling but can make a solid play here and there. DPJ has a chance to breakout in Detroit. He had a couple of solid years scattered throughout his time in Cleveland. Similar to Raymond, an offense this dynamic will give them their best chance to succeed.

  1. Tennessee Titans (Notable WRs: DeAndre Hopkins, Tyler Boyd, & Calvin Ridley)

The Titans completely rebuilt their receiving corps in the offseason. They are trying to give Levis a chance to succeed before making a decision on their future. They don't rank higher on this list, because we already know Hopkins will be out 6 weeks. When he comes back, he will be the star of the offense. He still proves he is an elite receiver every year. Similar to Davantae Adams, his situation has made him kind of forgotten about. Boyd should take over this offense while D-Hop is out. Boyd was Cincinnati's WR3, but always played far better than a 3. Ridley has not looked the same since his days in Atlanta. He still gets the bag with hopes he can return to his 2021 form.

  1. San Fransisco 49ers (Notable WRs: Deebo Samuel Sr., Brandon Aiyuk, &"Ricky Pearsall")

Aiyuk and Deebo are not top 5 WRs. They are certainly great, but both had one great season. Aiyuk, got over 1,300 yards last year, and Deebo got over 1,400 in 2021. Aside from these two seasons, the receivers are both solid. They will get you 1,000-1,100 yards each and even that is if they are both on the field the full season. Of course, Aiyuk wants out. If he leaves, that will damage the corps pretty heavily for the 49ers. I love Pearsall, drafted by the 49ers in the 1st round. I believe he fits HC, Kyle Shannahan's scheme perfectly.

  1. Seattle Seahawks (Notable WRs: DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Jake Bobo, & Laviska Shenault Jr.)

The Seahawks retain their very good receiving core. The Seahawks had a very up and down year last season. It was certainly not this group's fault. Metcalf is a consistent target with his size. Lockett saw a dip in production last year leading many to believe he will not return to his previous form. Njigba had a solid rookie year. I expect he starts seeing more targets. I want to see him produce a little more than he did only bringing in 628 yards. Bobo had flashes of being a deep threat. Shenault looks to break out after two disappointing seasons in Carolina.

  1. Chicago Bears (Notable WRs: DJ Moore, Keenan Allen, & "Rome Odunze")

The Chicago Bears have spent the offseason rebuilding their entire offense. They are planning to make themselves an immediate contender. They brought in DJ Moore last season who pulled in over 1,300 yards. They bring in Keenan Allen, who also puts up WR1 numbers every year. Finally, they draft Rome Odunze with their 9th overall pick. Rome may not be the most talented receiver these draft produces, but he was my favorite from an attitude perspective. This offense will click on all cylinders as long as Caleb Williams plays up to the hype. I expect this group will be much higher on this list come next year.

  1. Minnesota Vikings (Notable WRs: Justin Jefferson & Jordan Addison)

The Vikings lost some depth at WR this offseason. It does not seem like it will hurt the team much. They have a top 5 WR in football, Justin Jefferson. As well as Jordan Addison, who is looking towards being an elite receiver in the league as well. Both of these players will carry the team on their backs. We may see a small dip in stats due to lack of good QB play. That is what puts them lower on this list.

  1. Philadelphia Eagles (Notable WRs: AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith, & Jahan Dotson)

This top 10 can really shape out any order you want. The top 10 teams have at least two receivers guaranteed to bring in 2,300+ yards per season. Many will find this low for the Eagles. I put them here because of a rocky end of the season. It makes you question the play calling, and if it is helping the WRs, or hurting them. Either way, this is still an elite receiving corps. Brown and Smith highlighting it. Both players play high caliber football. Dotson may make a sneaky WR3 for the Eagles.

  1. Cincinnati Bengals (Notable WRs: Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, & "Jermaine Burton")

The Bengals losing Boyd could be a bigger deal than we believe. It is reported that Higgins wants a new contract or out. If the Bengals lose Higgins, they will take a significant dip in a list like this. Chase, a top 5 receiver can carry the team, I am not sure how he would do by himself. For now, Higgins is perfect WR2, and reports say Burton looks like a difference maker already. The Bengals need Burrow to stay healthy and play better than he did the few games he played last season.

  1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Notable WRs: Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, & "Jalen McMillan")

The Buccaneers have been very lucky to have kept two elite receivers all of these years. Evans produces every year no matter the circumstances. He and Godwin both can bring in 1,200 yards each, easily. I do not love the coaching staff in Tampa, but I will not stop believing in this corps until I see a reason on the field not to. The Bucs also invested their 3rd round pick on Jalen McMillan from Washington. He will be the in the starting 3, meaning he must have looked promising in the offseason. Mayfield loves to spread the ball around the field. So, someone like McMillan may get opportunities to show some of what he can do.

  1. Los Angeles Rams (Notable WRs: Cooper Kupp, Puka Nacua, Demarcus Robinson, Tutu Atwell, & "Jordan Whittington")

I am a believer in Puka. Who wouldn't be following last season. He and Kupp maybe the most productive duo in the league if Kupp stays healthy. You also have Robinson who is believed to see a career year with Stafford. Atwell is always a nice depth chart piece. Jordan Whittington, a 6th round pick from Texas is said to play a big factor in the Rams' offense.

  1. Miami Dolphins (Notable WRs: Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Odell Beckham Jr., Braxton Berrios, & "Malik Washington")

Tyreek Hill is the best WR in football. He is not only great, himself but he makes others better. His speed is elite making it hard to defend him. He has even completely beaten three players in coverage on the same play. He is such a distraction it has allowed Waddle to get over 1,000 yards in each of his 3 seasons in the NFL. Waddle is speedy as well. The Dolphins also have OBJ and Berrios. Both can play a role, but you probably won't see much out of them. They also have Anthony Scwartz and Willie Snead IV. Those two have become disappointments in the league. They drafted Malik Washington in the 6th round. He is also speedy. The Dolphins have a formula they stick too. Some may see it as a weakness, but I see it as a strength.

  1. Houston Texans (Notable WRs: Stefon Diggs, Nico Collins, Tank Dell, Robert Woods, & John Metchie III)

The Texans are stacked. Period. All of these players listed above are capable of getting 1,000+ yards. Of course, they can't. Diggs can cause headaches on and off the field, but I believe he shuts up considering he one of 6 capable receivers. As long as Stroud is on his rookie deal, I don't see this Texans team slowing down. Their Superbowl window is wide open as of last year and does not seem to be closing anytime soon.
